My name is Sam Taylor-Weekes, and when I was 14 I decided to start Hit Cricket- a bat refurbishing business which not only sold refurbished bats and offered refurbishment services but did both of these at very reasonable costs and as high quality as I could produce. The reason I did this is because I am cricket-mad and love business.
Between the ages of 9 and 11 I was in the Somerset Cricket Pathway but was dropped at the age of 11 because I wasn’t turning up to all the training sessions and matches. This is because my family is a Christian family and we choose to dedicate Sunday’s to God and 12 out of 18 training sessions and matches were on Sunday’s. However, my cricket journey didn’t stop there and I kept on playing cricket at Hampset Cricket Club. At the time of writing this I am 15 and I still play there.
Recently, cricket bat prices have been extremely high and therefore I aim to provide good quality bats at reasonable prices. The prices are very low as I think that everyone should have access to playing cricket those who have lots of money and those less financially gifted. I don’t want the sport I love to be viewed as a posh sport or just for the rich kids but I want everyone who wants to play to be able to play and to be able to play with a high quality bat.
Thank you for reading this and have a good day.
God bless you,
Sam Taylor-Weekes
